Iโve been thinking a lot about the impact layoffs have, not just financially, but personally.
Iโve seen it in others, and Iโve felt it myself at different points in my careerโฆ that quiet but heavy question: ๐๐ฉ๐ฐ ๐ข๐ฎ ๐ ๐ธ๐ช๐ต๐ฉ๐ฐ๐ถ๐ต ๐ต๐ฉ๐ช๐ด ๐ต๐ช๐ต๐ญ๐ฆ?
For a long time, I didnโt realize how closely I had tied my identity to my role at work. The role, the level, the recognition, it all became part of how I saw myself.
So when that shifts or disappears, it can feel like something deeper is lost too.
Titles describe what we do. They donโt define who we are.
And yet, itโs easy to blur that line, especially when you care deeply and take pride in showing up fully.
If youโre navigating a transition right now, I want to remind you:
That is what no title can give you, and no circumstance can take away.
That is what moves with you.
And sometimes, losing the title is exactly what creates the space to remember who you are without it, and to reclaim the parts of you that were always beyond it.
