I remember walking into my office that day. A beautiful painting had just been hung. I took in the view, then looked at my team sitting just outside.

I felt proud of what I had built.

Back then, the corner office meant something. So did the title I was working toward. I had followed the path, delivered the results, and earned my place, but the further I went, the less that destination felt like mine.

That day, I got curious about my own definition of success:

Soon after, I moved into a strategic advisor role. Iโ€™ve revisited that question many times since, in both my career and my personal life.

For my generation, marriage, 2.5 kids, and a white picket fence were familiar signs of success. My life looks different. My partner and I have been together almost 20 years. We arenโ€™t married and donโ€™t plan to be, but we choose each other every day. He has children; I donโ€™t.

I fully respect those other paths. There are many beautiful ways to build a life. Figuring out mine meant getting honest about what felt true to me, underneath the cultural, societal, and corporate expectations I had to sift through along the way.

Going back to school in my 30s, earning my masters degree just last year, and eventually leaving corporate each came from pausing to ask:

Sometimes weโ€™re so busy doing what we set out to do that we forget to check whether we still want it. A definition can serve you well for years. You can fulfill it, feel proud of it, and still outgrow it.

Thatโ€™s why I created the ๐—–๐—น๐—ฎ๐—ฟ๐—ถ๐˜๐˜† ๐—–๐—ผ๐—บ๐—ฝ๐—ฎ๐˜€๐˜€โ„ข : a chance to pause, get curious, and gain insight into where you are today across five dimensions:

Does your success reflect your values?
Does your work feel meaningful?
Do you trust your own decisions?
Are you consciously choosing your path?
Are you taking meaningful steps forward?

15 statements. About 5 minutes. Personalized insights delivered by email.

You donโ€™t have to be considering a big change. You may simply be curious about whatโ€™s feeling good and what could use a little attention.

If that sounds like you, I invite you to take the A few minutes to check in with yourself
