The Power of Play

𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗶𝘀𝗻’𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗽𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗶𝘁𝘆.
Another lesson these kittens keep teaching me:
𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆!!!
Not productivity.
Not efficiency.
Not optimizing every minute.
Just… play.
Watching them has been fascinating. A crinkled piece of paper, a feather, a cardboard box, or a tiny ball can become the greatest adventure. They chase, tumble, wrestle, explore, invent games, and somehow make the ordinary feel extraordinary.
It made me realize how much of that sense of wonder we quietly leave behind as adults.
Life becomes filled with responsibilities, deadlines, careers, bills, families, and endless to-do lists. We start asking, Is this practical? Is this productive? Is this worth my time?
Somewhere along the way, 𝗺𝗮𝗻𝘆 𝗼𝗳 𝘂𝘀 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘀𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗜𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝘀 𝗳𝘂𝗻?
Yet play isn’t a luxury. It’s where creativity lives.
It’s where curiosity grows, where new ideas emerge, where we connect with others, laugh more easily, solve problems differently, and reconnect with the parts of ourselves that don’t need to perform or produce to have value.
As a coach, I’ve seen that some of the greatest breakthroughs don’t happen when people push harder. 𝗧𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻 𝘄𝗵𝗲𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗴𝗮𝗶𝗻. When they give themselves permission to explore instead of simply execute.
These furry little teachers have reminded me that fulfillment isn’t built only through achievement. Sometimes it’s built through moments of play, wonder, creativity, and being completely present.
So here’s my question for you: 𝙒𝙝𝙖𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙪𝙡𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙣𝙜𝙚 𝙞𝙛 𝙮𝙤𝙪 𝙖𝙥𝙥𝙧𝙤𝙖𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙬𝙚𝙚𝙠 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙘𝙪𝙧𝙞𝙤𝙨𝙞𝙩𝙮 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙖 𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙩𝙡𝙚 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙤𝙣𝙙𝙚𝙧?
