What Walls Have You Built Around Yourself?

We hear the phrase limiting beliefs all the time. We know, intellectually, what it means. But I like to think of them differently.
I see them as walls.
Some walls are so close I can almost reach out and touch them. I know every crack and every contour because I’ve lived within them for so long.
Others sit much farther away. They’re barely noticeable until I try to do something that stretches me. Then suddenly they appear, quietly reminding me of the stories I’ve told myself.
The truth is, we are often our own limitation.
Sometimes consciously. More often subconsciously.
Our insecurities.
Our fear.
The stories we replay.
The belief that staying where we are is somehow safer than stepping into the unknown.
Those walls become the cocoon we hide inside.
But here’s the irony: what are they really protecting us from?
Living?
Growing?
Failing and learning?
Succeeding?
Experiencing this one life in full color instead of playing it safe from the sidelines?
I’ve spent a great deal of time examining the walls I’ve built around myself.
What I’ve discovered is that they aren’t permanent.
With self-awareness, honest reflection, and the willingness to uncover where those beliefs began, those walls start to move. They begin to crumble. And the farther away they become, the more room there is to breathe, to think, and to live life on my own terms.
I finally realized something that changed everything:
If I was the one who built these walls, I can also be the one who tears them down.
